Naloxone Saves Lives

Naloxone (Narcan®) is a nasal spray used to reverse opioid overdoses. It works by blocking the effects of opiates on the brain, thereby helping to restore breathing. In 2022, two FDA advisory committees voted unanimously in favor of making a nasal spray version of Naloxone available over-the-counter so more people could have access.

The Good Samaritan law provides immunity from arrest for simple possession offenses to the poisoning victim and the person who sought medical assistance.
